Implementation of Behaviour Support Plans

Positive support for safer, more independent lives.

At Mapple Care, we are committed to delivering respectful, person-centred behaviour support that promotes safety, wellbeing, and long-term independence. Our team is trained to implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)—including plans that involve regulated restrictive practices—in line with NDIS and legislative requirements.

We understand that behind every behaviour is a story. That’s why we focus on proactive, strengths-based strategies to support participants with complex needs in a way that is safe, empowering, and goal-driven.

What is the Implementation of a Behaviour Support Plan?

Behaviour Support Plans are developed by NDIS-registered Behaviour Support Practitioners to reduce behaviours of concern and improve quality of life. At Mapple Care, we implement these plans under the guidance of the practitioner, delivering consistent support to:

  • Apply strategies outlined in the BSP (e.g., environmental adjustments, routine management, engagement)
  • Support emotional regulation and skill-building
  • Implement approved restrictive practices (e.g., physical, chemical, environmental, or seclusion) only where authorised and monitored
  • Record and report behaviours, incidents, and plan outcomes
  • Collaborate with your broader team (therapists, families, behaviour practitioners)
  • Ensure all practices are in line with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements

We prioritise the participant’s dignity, voice, and rights in everything we do.

Who is this service for?

This support is suitable for NDIS participants who:

  • Have an NDIS Behaviour Support Plan developed by a registered practitioner
  • Require trained support staff to implement proactive and/or restrictive strategies
  • Display behaviours of concern that may pose a risk to themselves or others
  • Require a consistent, well-trained team to support positive behaviour change

We ensure our support workers are trained in de-escalation, trauma-informed care, restrictive practices, and mandatory reporting.
